Modeled after a Dutch hood made by my friend Dave Kanellis. Dave is an impeccable hoodmaker. He taught me how to make an Anglo-Indian hood several years ago, and let me tell you: hoodmaking is one art form that is 10,000 times more tedious than carving birds (and bird accessories!) from lino. It's much higher stakes, too! 

There are so many factors that influence whether or not you can actually use the hood you've labored over for days. The bird has to find the hood comfortable (not too snug, not rubbing against the skin on their face, not making contact with their eyeballs, not catching their nape feathers in the braces), it can't be so loose that your bird can scratch it off of their noggin, it can't let any light through... and while not imperative, it should also look nice! Dave hits every mark with every hood he makes, and it's a crime that he doesn't sell them.
