About

Hi, my name is Hannah! I'm a licensed falconer, falconry educator, and lifelong bird-lover based out of Tucson, AZ. I'm also a self-taught printmaker, working mostly in linoleum and rubber block relief printing.

Since elementary school, the subject matter across all of creative pursuits has been primarily avian in nature.

As a kid, it was "birds I hope to fly one day", and for the past 12 years, it's been birds I've personally flown and loved (for falconry, abatement, education), birds I'd like to meet, and birds I've observed in passing.

Carving birds makes me happy, and printing is growing on me too since figuring out a system that is less messy and frustrating. What drew me to this medium specifically is less of the printing, and more of the carving. The tactile experience of carving away at a smooth surface with a sharp gouge is so viscerally satisfying. I highly recommend it for anyone prone to body-focused repetitive behaviors who may be looking for a less harmful alternative (shout-out to my fellow neurodivergents!).

I've created this shop for the following reasons:

- I'm carving and printing for fun anyway, and I've received many requests for prints and stickers. This shop is to make my work available to you!

- My work in falconry education slows to a near complete halt in the summer. I'm hoping to be able to sell some art to float myself through the next few months until business picks up again, and then to just list whatever new things I make between working and hunting with my bird in the fall/winter. With RHV flaring up again, I'm not sure what the next falconry season will bring, so it may be that I have even more free time to carve and print. We'll see! :,)

- The slowing down of my job also means I get less time to geek out about birds to strangers. So I'll be shoehorning some falconry + raptor education into product descriptions.

Thanks for visiting! I hope you enjoy!
